Good afternoon!
See, I promised i'd blog more and I am, yay! I'm hoping to make this one a bit more fun and interesting than the last one though ;-)
I have started today well, I am now up to date with my accounts and finally did my tax return after putting it off all year. It was much easier than I thought so i WILL be doing the next one as soon as it comes! I can't wait to start making some of the ideas I have had recently so I thought i'd share with you some of the beads and materials which I am loving at the moment and are inspiring me.

The postie brought my first bead package of the year from the fab Grubbi Ceramics who makes very pretty and unusual ceramic beads :-)
Just before Christmas I ordered these beautiful strands of labradorite, one of my favourite gemstones and I can't wait to use them! These are all so delicate and pretty with amazing flashes of colour so they will hopefully turn into some really beautiful jewellery. These are from Jewellery maker which is my favourite place to buy gemstones. Not only are the prices amazing, they deal directly with the mines so they know for sure that the miners are treated well.
I am also excited to make more hammered beads in lots of different colours so I have cut lots of wire ready to be hammered, shaped, painted and varnished. I bought a new hammer a few months ago after my previous one broke (don't ask, I have no idea! Clearly I'm a lot stronger than I look!) and I am loving it! It is giving a great texture which is also saving me valuable time as my previous hammer just flattened and I had to add texture separately.
I will do another blog about these beads and their progress once they are finished.

I also love making these wire 'roses' so i am going to be making lots more of them this year. I am even going to try then in sterling silver to make something really special. I love oxidising these copper roses and combinging them with colours like green and purple but I might try some new colour combos so i'd love to hear your suggestions!
Right, I'd better get cracking on some of these ideas before they float away out of my head!
Don't forget, I am open for commission orders, especially with my handmade beads so shout up if you would like to place an order for something unique! I enjoy discussing designs with my customers and together, coming up with a great design to their exact specifications.
See you later!
