With Mother's Day less than 3 weeks away I thought I'd pop in with a little post about mothers. We all have one after all!
Here is a picture of me with my lovely mum at my wedding nearly 5 years ago! I got married back home in Cambridgeshire so it was mostly planned long distance and I couldn't have done it without her! She inspired me growing up to be independent, caring and kind. I watched her raise us well along with my dad through some tough times as well as all the good times and I aspire to be as good a mum one day as she is to me.

She is a very hard working mum who is always helping me and my brother and sister out in one way or another as well as keeping my Dad in check and rarely spends any time taking care of herself. So, when Mother's Day comes around it's always tough to choose her a little something to sow her how grateful I am. She is tricky to buy for at the best of times plus, her birthday is around the same time which makes it harder! She doesn't wear jewellery so the obvious choice is wiped out straight away! She isn't into clothes, makeup, perfume etc. so those are a no go too.
Her passion is her garden so I usually get her something related to that, a voucher for the garden centre, a bird box, a new trowel. Usually a voucher intended for one of the other items though because I live nearly 200 miles away and usually need to post the gift.
It would be lovely to see her and spoil her for the day but we have to make do with a phone call.

I did make her a brooch once, the closest thing to jewellery she is likely to make use of! I have never made another one like it but it is made using class bicones and has a little seed bead bumble bee :-)
I have created a little board on Pinterest with some gift ideas to help with the sometimes tough way to show your mum how grateful you are for everything she does for you! We sometimes forget how important they are :-)
This year she is visiting for her birthday a couple of weeks later so i'll just have to spoil her then. :-)

So, don't forget your mum on 15th March this year, let her know you appreciate her be it with a gift, a card or even just a phone call. You don't have to have a big budget, or any budget at all. You can buy something, make something or give a gift of letting her put her feet up.
And if you are a mum, just remember, us kids might seem ungrateful at times, but deep down we do appreciate you, we just don't always know how to show it. X
